2022

Updated: Jan 1, 2023

I liked 2022. I explored a fair bit of many things; it was one of those years where I didn't waste any day.

It might sound funny, but this was a year where I LOVED music more than ever. Somehow I feel I am closer to music now than ever before. I'm "seeing" it closer, better, and with more colour. It's been hitting me differently. Thank you, God, for that.

I got to produce and shoot a music video for my song with no business strategy whatsoever. That was liberating. I recorded a string quartet for an instrumental form, again with no 'material' end in mind. I should have released 2 more singles by now, but I got some work in-between to make money, etc.

In December, I recorded a symphony orchestra in AIR, London; this was my dream come true in a way; AIR is a spectacular chapel-turned-studio and the London orchestra sounds just insane. (It was for a big movie project where I was hired as an orchestral arranger). The experience of recording them was exhilarating. I'm waiting for the day when I would record in AIR for my own stuff.

Lastly and most importantly, I got my morning time of 1-2 hours every day with my coffee and my playlists almost throughout the year :D; except for those heavy deadline projects once in a while. On the whole, a lovely year.

Anyways, looking forward to a terrific 2023. Wish you all a happy new year!

Love,

B Prasanna

PS: Below, are some vids and photos of moments I liked from this year, with one exception.

My new mobile workstation with the cutest looking keyboard and speakers.

Recording Grand Philharmonic in London

A moment Mani Chips captured and edited in Ooty when we were chilling prior to shoot

Yet another candid edit by Mani Chips of Sriram Raja, my dream collaborator this year.

Me rehearsing with the string quartet. We're going through a section without metronome!

This is a precious little video that Gowri captured prior to recording; it's a memory that I'll cherish. (This was from 2020 though)
